Entering service in 1928, the HMS Rodney initially served in World War II by searching for German commerce raiders. The Nelson-class battleship went on to escort convoys, assist at the Norwegian Campaign, and was instrumental in sinking the German battleship, Bismark. Throughout late 1941 and 1942 the HMS Rodney was deployed in the Mediterranean with her sister ship, the HMS Nelson.
