The SBD Douglas is an American naval scout plane and dive bomber first flown in 1940. The plane is best remembered as the bomber that delivered the final blows to the Japanese carriers at the Battle of Midway in 1942. It was manufactured by Douglas Aircraft and flown by the US Navy as well as the US Marine Corps.
