Description

Musashi, the last battleship built by Japan, was laid down at Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works in March 1938 as the second Yamato-class battleship. In the construction, the improvement of the problems found in Yamato was incorporated, and the flagship equipment was further enhanced. Musashi, which was a national top secret like Yamato, was carefully concealed because it was built at a private shipyard. Since the 46cm main gun could only be manufactured at the Kure Naval Arsenal in Hiroshima, it was the first time for the Navy to build a transport ship Kashino dedicated to carrying 46cm guns, avoiding transportation by private ships for counterintelligence reasons. Musashi, commissioned in August 1942, departed for the Truck Islands, which was a strategic base of the Japanese Navy in January 1943. In February, Musashi, which had more interior decoration than Yamato, became the flagship of the Combined Fleet. Offshore model / Full hull model selectable. Reproduce Musashi's unique parts such as the central structure and the back of the bridge with special parts. A zero-type seaplane observation aircraft and a zero-type seaplane reconnaissance aircraft are included. One ship. Overall length: 376mm.
