Description

The Z-25 belongs to the 1936A destroyer and entered service on November 30, 1940. Later, the main guns were replaced with double-mounted guns, and air defense weapons were also increased. During Operation Thrbrus, Z-25 and many small ships accompanied Scharnhorst, Gneisenau and Prinz Eugen from Brest Port to the German naval base, crossing the English Channel on the way . Despite the combined attack from the Royal Navy, naval aviation and shore artillery, all the ships arrived safely at their destinations. In March 1942, Z-24, Z-25, Z-26 and U boats intercepted the British Arctic Ocean escort fleet PQ-13 and sank 6 transport ships. From the end of April to the beginning of May of the same year, Z-25 and two other destroyers attacked the QP-11 escort fleet, sinking the light cruiser Edinburgh and a transport ship. After the war, Z-25 was compensated to France and disintegrated in 1958.
